Battery, Alternator, Capacitor Help

Hey all:

My car has an 80 amp alternator, I plan on adding an Odyssey PC1500 DT battery and (1) 1400 watt amp for the sub and (2) 250 watt amps for the front speakers. Is there anyway to determine if a capacitor will be required only or if an HO alternator will be required also. Thanks!

A capacitor will not help voltage problems...

Install everything, if you have voltage drops then upgrade your alternator. There is no substitute for more current.

I was thinking that I would only have problems with the sub amp. Won't a capacitor store enough power for the peak hits that the sub amp needs?

If that's all the amps you will be using then no. You can get away with one battery under the hood and the big three done.

That is no you do not need the capacitor, extra batter, or alternator.

Oh sorry I didn't mention that I already did the big 3.

So the Odyssey battery and the big 3 is complete.

OK, I just ordered the alternator from Ohio Generators.

Did some searching here and it seems that people don't think capacitors serve any purpose.

But does anyone have experience with these new 10 farad hybrid capacitors from Stinger?

dont waste your money on a cap just get a alternator like pitbull12888 recomended
