bass knob q

If it is a gain/level control, yes. If it is a boost control, no. Throw the boost control away lol.
ya bass boost is teh suxor, but all it says is remote bass knob so im not sure. its probably boost though. its a kenwood amp if that makes a difference.

IIRC Kenwood does not use a level control on thier amps. See if you can get them on the phone. Tech support would know for sure.

If you can't find out for certain, you can always leave it disconnected.

could i just play around with the knob while im setting the gains, or would the bass boost have an effect on the voltage also?

The bass boost will increase/decrease voltage while you play with it. If you want to use it, and it is a "boost", set it with it as high as you would use it. And don't turn it up past that.

i thnk hifonics knobs are gain/level adjustment. Atleas that's what i was told. Don't knw much about kenwood amps. Just don't use the knob period and set the gains correctly. If you really want the bass knob, then set the gains first, then plugin the knob.
