Funny bank story -
I had my picture in the paper a couple years back for winning some car show I was at. Of course I kept a newspaper clipping of it.... but in the mail about a week later I got a letter from my local town bank saying "Congradulations! and they laminated a copy of the newspaper clipping and did it up all nice and shit" .... i can see why he would hate them. but what about wamu? why does he hate them?

I forget. I kinda drift in and out in class sometimes. I do remember him saying that they randomly fining him $65 on an account he just had 5 grand sitting in gaining interest, for no reason.

He hates on wamu because before it was wamu, it was some other bank that had a horrible reputation for doing shady things with credit, like not accepting people with good credit, or if someone was good, and then was a day late on their payment, they would raise their interest to 29.99%

Then your teacher is a moron. WAMU didn't ever go by a different name. WAMU came about by buying up a bunch of fails. This previous bank your teacher hated was purchased by WAMU. The only thing they had in common was the building. lawl

Alot of credit providers will do that, even if you don't have any fukups with their institutions.

Several times, when my checking account gets low, I miraculously get a maintenance fee. That fee will overdraft my account, and if I don't catch it before the end of the day, $25 fee. I honestly think that it's not a coincidence, and that they program their system to do that.

In that pic, Oreilly was for power steering fluid. The charge at lowes was sub box building supplies. i also use that card to buy groceries, and I hardly eat out.

I'm a frugal college student.

almost all banks and cc companies will do that

they offer a 0% for 6-12 months or something, but in the terms(that you agree to) it states if you are late that goes bye bye and you pay prime+xx%

They all do that. You have to actually read the pamphlets they send you in the mail.
Pay your bills and you have nussing to worry about.

maybe i have no complaints about wamu and capital one because i pay on time.

Indeed suckage. Why would you in your right mind use a bank that penalizes you when you give them money?
Do they still charge you a fee to talk to a teller?

because they are the nearest bank to me, easiest access/most dominant in my area, and it hasnt been an issue up until now...

and no, they have never charged me a fee to talk to anyone.

out of all the banks in my area, they honestly are the best choice for me.

Get overdraft protection then ... it's like $2/month at my bank ...
I don't have it but I always have at least $1500 in either one of my accounts ...
