i had an issue with BofA as well

i lived in an apartment and the management sucked so i was looking for a new place. end of the month came and i thought i would need to stay another month so i wrote out a check to my apartments.

turns out the next day i found a place i could move into on the 1st so i called BofA and asked them to stop payment on the check and they said no problem

well a week later i look at my account and they cashed the check which caused me to overdraft by a few hundred. i called and asked WTF and they said they had a record of me calling but no record of me asking to stop payment

WTF so I called just to shoot the shit with the CS rep? i never got my money back and i had to pay overdraft fees and the balance back

BofA sucks

funny thing is, my personal finance teacher hates capital one and wamu with a passion. almost as much of BOA.

weird. i have capital one and wamu and i dont see myself leaving them any time soon...

does he have some reasons why he hates them? i would love to hear him out, because i dont know all this finance shit, all i know is when im happy and im happy when im not getting screwed (at least not face to face lol), maybe im just ignorant though.

Yeah I would go with a credit union.

I use capital one because I have doen quite a bit of business with them. never have aproblem with a getting a loan or problems with my accounts. But not saying it wont happen. Just hasnt happened yet.

I do like wamu. A friend of mine told em about them. I opened an account with them and its been great so far.

Any big corporation has enough customers they can tell you to piss off. Small town banks and/or credit unions are where its at.

Kind of like walmart does the hometown grocery stores. Slash service to give savings, it sucks.

i havent had any issues with bofa yet. although i am going to have to figure out something as i dont think im going to be able to do direct deposit anymore, and that will get me a penalty...

speaking of small town banks.

there is a bank in Julian here in san diego county by the name "Rabobank"....pronounced Rob-A-Bank hahah. not sure if this was just a little joke or what though

Funny bank story -

I had my picture in the paper a couple years back for winning some car show I was at. Of course I kept a newspaper clipping of it.... but in the mail about a week later I got a letter from my local town bank saying "Congradulations! and they laminated a copy of the newspaper clipping and did it up all nice and shit" ....
