I think i am going to do a bandpass box in my trunk with the port out the arm rest. in my 1970 monte carlo. i would make the box myself. sould i use the vol. of a prefab one and just make it bigger

The enclosure needs to be specifically designed for the subwoofers. You can't just arbitrarily pick volumes and tuning frequencies to use (i.e. "sould i use the vol. of a prefab one and just make it bigger")

well if you aren't experienced in building ported boxes...i wouldn't even attempt to build a bandpass by yourself...they aren't forgiving at all to user errors.

Agreed 100%.

Very minor errors can cause drastic changes in performance.

i am a very exsperinced box builder, never made my onw design of a bandpass tho. i have made bandpass boxes before but i used prefab specs.

No you're not. No box designer/builder would think of using the dimensions of a prefab bandpass box. I suggest if you wish to build one. You do a lot of reading and test building before going at it.
