bandpass superior?

Ok, attached is my so-called in-depth study into what I can do with my current subs...

I was just about to purchase hx2's and a JBL bp1200.1, but due to personal reasons (incredible amount of debt due to credit card bills), I can't afford crap except maybe plenty of MDF, so now I'm thinking of scrapping my current box and making a new one...

the following graph shows the gain as shown in WINisd...

2 X RFP-1810 drivers (10" 8ohm 200RMS)

THe SPL graph is nearly identical... from the gain and SPL, I'd take bandpass anyday..but hey, I'm sure there's more to it than lines that fly high above sealed and ported...

my amp cuts at 80Hz, so I'm not worried about anything after that... please take a look, especially Jmac... what's your opinion on this?

The phase plot and group delay lines look very funny with the bandpass though... but I don't understand that part, therefore, I've ignored it completely.

I don't have a great deal of power to push my subs well, so I gotta go for an enclosure that gives me performance with less power than desired.

bandpass sucks unless it is made absolutely PERFECT to spec......which isn't going to happen. So i'd go with JMAC....ported offers twice as loud as sealed and can still sound good if tuned low....29hz

dont go bandpass unless u can do it PERFECT... ported is more forgiving and sealed is the most forgiving for newbie builders

bandpass enclosure measurement during the desighn stage are critical as are in manufacture of the box.

if the physical box sizes are out within .5 or 1 mm ur bass could fly out the window.

only build it if you KNOW you can

personally i think u should go the ported box
