bandpass fail?

I just realized that my last box was a bandpass box, I had someone from my old job build it and the subs sounded good, but when it came to lower notes, seemed like the output was being hindered, should I try a ported box that is actually tuned to a low frequency before getting rid of these subs? Any insight would be nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

I have no clue, but my subs were fully enclosed, they were facing the cabin along with a 16" long port that went into the cabin, I'm thinkin it may have been the design, I'll try another box

I don't know if these will help, but I do know that there were two chambers in the box, the subs were also facing the cabin

Ya, that's a 4th order. Both ported boxes and 4th orders will get low, but you can't get much better than a simple ported box for lows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I bet he has a sub on either side of that port that we can't see...probably just a ported box.

OP, in a 4th order bandpass you'll have the subs in a sealed chamber, firing into a ported chamber, and all of the output is coming from the port itself...so you'll have to look inside the port to be able to see the subs.
