BANDPASS BOX...How much louder is it??

I got 2 10" Alpine Type R's in a Q-Logic box and I know that if i toss these boys into a bandpass box it will be louder....But how much harder do subs hit in a Band pass? Is it worth getting one??

Oh they will hit harder alright, but may struggle on some frequencies. Bandpass boxes have to be built to perfection, and have to be built to the specs of the sub it would be housing. Is the box you have sealed or ported? If its sealed, go aheahd and make a ported box to spec. and it will be louder.

They don't necessarily hit louder. They are designed so that they will go louder OR lower. If you are planning on using it to do SQ at all, I suggest you go ported, so you get the extra output, and forget the BP.

BPs **** for SPL, but sound loud.

SPL = sound pressure level??? am i correct here?? to me "loud" and "spl" is the same thing...

bit really I have head system that would sound like 150 and barely break 140.
