Ball Joint and Lower Control Arm...

Its really simple.

Take out the phone book, and look under "auto repair".

Seriously though, Im not sure you should try that with those tools- wait until you can borrow the proper tools to do it.

oooh.. i rent both of the forks from autozone for free . you need two types of forks from my understanding, there an upper and a lower, both of which differ in sizes. well taking off was pretty hard but becareful because i blew all my balljoints, grease was leaking like a b:tch. im stilll driving on blown balljoints but technicians says its okay:)

that might help, hope it does, thanks:naughty:

do not use those forks unless you are planning on replacing any ball joints you put them in contact with. two hammers is all you need. hit both sides of the knuckle where the ball joint is being removed from simutaniously(multiple times) and the ball joint will just fall out. sort of hard to explain but never fails and will leave your ball joints in tact.

if you have to ask you shouldnt be doing it. my mechanic changed both my lower ball joints he used a hammer and a chizel to knock it out. and a special tool to put in the new ones. but its alot harder then just what i said. took him about 4 hours he charged me 100$ for labor parts where 40$ and the aligment shop wanted 300$...

joint puller from what i heard works the best. you gotta yank on the forks to get them out; when putting them back together, its pretty easy, just dont lose the bolts and replace the cotter pins if you can.
