bad to under power boofers?

I have a 900w kenwood amp (KAC-9105d) and I want two type r's. Would it be bad to get the new ones and under power them by 150w per boofer? Should I just get the old ones?

Your amp should work fine so long as you're able to wire the subs in the manner that allows your amp to produce the most power.
