bad idea??

so i got a set of mb quart qsd 216s right. Prolly gonna power them with a zx350.2 i think. i have like no room for kick panels so i was gonna build a fiberglass enclosure in front of the seats. i laid wood out to give you an idea of size. i know im car audio retarded so i will accecpt flames if you help me. would an enclosure that big be big enough and will it sound okay where it is placed?

Yeah, placing it there is going to be a bad idea. It is going to bring the image of your front stage under your dash, by your feet. The resulting sound quality will not be good at all. Is it possible for you to fit the 6.5's in your door? Im just running into problems trying to fit it anywhere. you think it would be better if i made it so the speaker faced straight up? btw what is imaging?

Imaging is where the music sounds like it's coming from. For example, an ideal front stage would be imaged towards the center of the car at ear level. Facing them straight up would be better I suppose, but still not ideal, or anywhere near that.

With the speaker facing the pedals like that your sound will sound like it's coming from under the dash by your feet, which will result in a crappy muffled quality. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Why can't you do a custom fiberglass pod on the door since your gonna have to do fiberglassing anyways for that box your considering now?

You can make it so the fiber glass sticks out of the door and mount it on a ring with legs. Sec, let me see if I can find you a pic for example.
