Hi,

I have some distortion coming out of my speakers when the Radio is on. It sounds like a bad ground but I don't have this problem when using the CD Player. I also lost all my AM reception. (A necessity around DC for traffic info)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

your antenna wire is loose in the back of your deck. Wiggle it around and slide it back in. All should be well after that.

Tried that. Still didn't fix the problem. Oh and if it helps CD player is an Alpine CDM model. Car is 2005 Honda Accord.

Thanks again

ya i dont see why that would be a bad ground. Because if it was a bad ground the distortion would always be there. radio, xm, cd, etc. It has to be something with the antenna. Either the wire or the actual antenna. Or maybe the deck or the antenna input is messed up. What is the model on the deck?

Alpine CDM-7861. It is probably 5 years old.

its something with the antenna do you have power antenna and if so is it dissconected
Not sure. It is a 2005 Honda Accord. It does not have a power antenna that I know of. However, my understanding of a "power antenna" is that the antenna would extend and retract when the radio is on/off. This was my assumption with my 1994 Honda Accord as well (please correct me if I am wrong). If this is the case, then no, I don't have a power antenna. If a power antenna means that the signal is strengthened with current sent to an antenna then I am not sure (can you tell I'm new? lol)

That's what I figured but I wasn't 100% sure. That's why I'm asking the pros.

Thanks,

Grahm
