So lately i've been noticing that my sub amp is starting to cut off when i have my stereo on full tilt. It'll be fine for like the first 10 minutes, then it'll start cutting off. The only time i had this problem before was at night when i had my lights on and i was sitting in a stop light. Now it was happening with the lights turned off and while driving.
Could this be my battery dying? I haven't done the big 3 and it's just a cheap-o energizer battery.
Today it became wayy worse and couldnt turn it past like 35 in my headunit without it cutting off (normally i have it at 50). Driving to school on the freeway, all of the sudden my battery light comes on. So i turned off my headunit, and then a very loud clunking sound starts happening. I get off at the first exit and park somewhere, pop the hood and see that one of my pulleys has fallen off (not completely though, just because really loose). It's the engine pulley that connects to the alternator. Could it have gotten loose due to strain on the alternator?
key points: Battery might be dying. Strain on alternator caused pulley to come loose? ******* pissed.
