Amp:

JBL GTO 1201.1 II

787 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms

1114 watts RMS x 1 channel at 2 ohms

Sub:

DC Level 4 10"

Power Handling RMS/Peak - 1000/2000

Impedance - D 2ohm

How will I have to wire the two together so that the sub is receiving (in theory) 1114 watts? I am a newb and don't have a ****in clue about impedance, ohms, etc., so any help is much appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

you cant with that sub... its dual 2.. you can wire it in 4 or 1 ohms... the jbl is rating 1114 @ 2... so you can get 787 @ 4.. safely...

what sub if you dont mind me asking

and dont be too upset... while there probaly is some difference btween 800ish and 1100ish watts.. the difference would be minimal

The particular sub I was referring to is a DC Level 4 10". Hmm, well if the difference in sound wouldn't be that much between ~800 and ~1100, I may still go ahead and get it then...

honeslty i'd find something thats worth hooking that amp up too and may as well squeeze ouut the juice you got if you ahavent gotten it yet.. i like that amp alot.. i want one to match my current four channel amp..

and what are you paying for this sub?

yeah i

and to the OP i havent really read alot about these subs... from the pictures i see they look beefy, but i also see an MSRP of like 450+...

i dont wanna say they arent worth the money, i dont know what you're paying and i never delt with them myself so dont wanna lead you the wrong way. . but i think you could find something that will be comparable no matter how good they are.. that will match that amp better and might be een cheaper/ or louder

If I get it, I'm going to buy it off a member on this board (90accordman) for ~160 plus shipping... the main reason I want to get it is because it has the right dimensions/cubic ft requirements for the amount of space I have (underseat box). If you have any recommendations though for subs that are similar size and requirements, more suited to my amp, and $200 or less, please let me know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I can get up to 2 cubes after port/sub/bracing displacement (the box is going under the back seat of an ext. cab silverado). However, mounting depth needs to be 6.5" max.
