Been awhile sense i've been on here as a regular, but now i'm back and with a new project vehicle!

Before I used to be about SPL, then went into my stage of trying to achieve SQL. NOw I just want a clean sounding system. Something that has the potential of getting loud and sounding nice and clean .

The vehicle : 2007/8 Toyota Tundra Double cab 4 door.

Head Unit : Stock for now, planning on a Alpine w205

Power : US Amps 5600. 5chan.

So this amp puts out a rated power of 75x4wrms @ 4ohms dynamic of 105wrms. and 500x1 @1ohm.

The budget for front speakers is $160.

I'm sure theirs a boner around here lately for the pg rds's . But i'm not sure about the aluminum cone.

As of now the plan is to run 2 re-8's sealed. I can't go any bigger than an 8" woofer.

So recommend a set of SQ comps, or maybe I can put together a set. But keep in mind the budget.

thanks.

Maybe check out some of the offerings from CDT got some fairly cheap component sets on woofersetc.com such as http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4418

and maybe check out the Image Dynamics ID8 v3 http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech_page.php?name=ID8D4%20V.3&type=sub&id=id

Or maybe go all RE and US Amps, I think US Amps owns RE now anyways so kind of like sticking all with one company. Get the RE8's and then a set of RE comps for just a hair over your $160 budget, http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4927

Just some options I guess that you can look at.

Woofer - Dayton RS150-4 ($30 ea.)

Tweeter - Seas 27TAFNCG ($30 ea.)

Active crossover - LR4 (24db/oct) at 2000 hz - (spend a little more and get a good one; it's worth the investment, trust me)

If you install the above setup properly, I'm willing to bet that you will have better SQ for around $200 than other sets which sell for $500-600 or more.

Don't know about the crossover, but x2 on everything else. Tons of people over on DIY have had or currently have this setup. For the price, it's great from what I hear.

But, keep in mind: For the price

Don't expect it to be as stellar as some drivers priced higher.

Year the back is pretty limited to space. I wouldn't stick anything larger than a 10 in the back under the bench.

Undercover, what exactly do you have against the re-8 ? I actually have the re-8's and re comps. Their up for sale though.

elemental 8's sound really good. And $75 each. Pretty good bargin.

9kv.2 silver or 9kv.3 black cone

I had 4 7kv2 ported that sounded incredible for only 6.5 inch subs. After that I went to a pair of 11kv.3.
