Sometimes I wonder if people even read anything of the arguments or if they have any reading comprehension skills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif
Topic of title is SVS vs B&W it is not my sub vs anything else so why would I think my sub is better then everyone else's in a topic about SVS vs B&W? Just cause some guy/girl on the net says his dayton is better then my sub and his obviously to afraid to post even pictures of his setup am I suppose to believe him....right....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif
You started this thread to get everyone's panties riled up, and prove that your brand (SVS, which I consistently see you recommending to everyone on the forum) was better than the someone else's brand. It's pretty obvious you and joetama disagree about B&W speakers, and you wanted to prove that B&W isn't what its cracked up to be. Well you did drive the point home that B&W isn't a very good value, but you failed to drive the point home that the SVS 10" was better or even an acceptable driver. It had 10% distortion, and
you found that
desirable...which is actually abhorrent performance. I tried to convince you that the SVS was a poor driver, but you just blabbering your ignorance. You don't even know how to assess a distortion measurement...the SVS is not good from:
The svs is good from 20 hertz and up for 95 db....
It is incredibly poor past a narrow notch around 40hz where the distortion is at least below the double digits.
I then provided objective data (distortion measurements, bl/inductance/etc curves) trying to explain to you what a good driver measured like (way below 1% distortion). I never brought up the fact that I owned a Dayton woofer or that it was better than your "sub" until you questioned the Dayton's fidelity and low end performance.
It would lol cause I have mines low passed at 45 hertz... My towers play down to 35 hertz no problems (definitive technology 7001s 2-10"s subs each with a 1800 watt plate amp) But for what my sub was made for 45 hertz hertz all the way down to 10 hertz, I doubt the dayton even 4 would have usable output down to 10 hertz lol
I didn't appreciate the ignorant comments concerning the driver and thats where the whole argument started. I tried to provide you with actual information relating to how drivers work in the home environment and the factors that contribute to how they sound...and you just spat in my face. Your argument against my case was "I don't care". Hardly intelligent at all, ignorant/misinformed/unintelligent people like you are the reason caraudio.com doesn't have a very good reputation.
and yes you are supposed to believe me that the Daytons would have higher output and have lower distortion. Even if you don't consider me credible, John Krutke (ie Zaph did the distortion measurements) and npdang (admin of
diymobileaudio.com, did the klippel measurements) are considered very credible amongst forum members across the internet.
