Wow, that'll make you look like you know what you're doing.

tell me what you see wrong with the sub?

Grill is deep its 2 1/2 inches but it was never planned in at all... if it would of been planned I would of flush mounted the sub so the grill wouldn't need to be so deep. Oh ya and you didn't read it right or couldnt understand that the grill was nowhere near done in that pix nor is the box....

Grill was rounded off all around painted black and covered in grill cloth material and box will be painted in high gloss black

Performance wise it does 126 db at 18 hertz in my room and the FR is +- 3 db from 20 hertz to 45 hertz, its lowpassed at 45 hertz cause my tower subs take care of the higher frequencies.

Heres some test results with the grill on and off..

New grill installed FR response changes

with grill on

18 hertz 0 db

20 hertz .2 db louder

25 hertz 0 db louder

30 hertz .1 db down

35 hertz .1 db down

40 hertz .2 db down

45 hertz .2 db down

both tests done within a minute of each other at listining position which was about 7 feet from the sub.

graph one is the grill off

graph two is the grill on

What is very interesting, is that I noticed it gained .2 db right around where it peaks at, at full tilt which is 20 hertz and in my spl car setup's when just laying a piece of mdf under the port I would also gain .2 db...

Heres a piece of the box I am talking about

3-DD 9510s and 2 memphis 4kws best I got out of it was a 152 on the termlab street b but what was funny is taking out one sub and covering up the hole only lost me .5 db which got me to drop down to street a, best score I got was a 153 in street a in testing, never got to hit a show with my street a setup.

My diy sub is gonna match my def tech's very nicely... high gloss black paint for the box is next //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What did you wrap that in?
Looks crappy....
speaker grill cloth... the camera might have some glue on it lol and I went overboard on the glue and their is a couple of glue stains, its suppose to dry clear though. ( also used staples just incase any one is wondering)

Even my girl who never approves of things said "wow that really came out nice" it will match my def techs perfectly once the box is painted...

In the picture it isnt "mounted" to the box, its just laying on it (trying to find some strong small magnets locally if not ill buy them trough parts express) Still need to install the rubber feet on it to protect the hardwood floors on the new house but like ive said many times, I am waiting to move the sub to the new house so I can have it painted high gloss black.

What rubber feet are you looking at?
Well I already bought these ones. I have no clue if I should just use regular wood screws or what to mount them, or if they are even the right kind. If not what do you recommend? I am guessing they should be fine though.

ps the dam glue (***) stains haven went away lol any recommendations on getting rid of them or just wait for it to dry acouple of days? You can see what I am talking about in the picture also.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

It's great to DIY... hell I love it...

But companies, with ENGINEERS who have decades of experience and technology on their hands... it's hard to argue with quality sometimes. I'm talking about any reputable company.

My 5.1 is completely DIY pretty much... and I love it. Sounds downright amazing for how much I have into it.

Anyways... I'll go ahead and say my subwoofer is sexier looking, I DIY'd it... hell I even DIY'd my enterntainment center/tv stand/speaker stands.

Also, I remember a times back... when good ol' Sergio was banned... A LOT. And openly admitted to lying about TL numbers...we don't need to bring back those days...

You've always been to quantitative bud... It's not always about "the numbers" on paper.

Also, where to all these numbers come from? Just wondering how the measurements were taken?

Spl numbers are coming from a termlab (for both my above dbdrag setup and my HT sub)... and the graphs are coming from an ecm 8000 running off free software.

If you know dbdrag mostly everyone lies about the numbers they are doing, its all about head games...Some say they are doing louder then they are, others say they are doing allot less then they are. I have yet to meet anyone who really says what number their ride really has got in it.

Since I have no plans on doing db drag I will say this the above street b setup did a 152 at best but It probably could of done a 153 with more effort. the street a setup did a 153 with very little effort. 1 box got me their....I messed with the box and reconed the subs and got a new battery and dropped to a 151 or 150.5 I cant remember exactly what number So I was like fudge this $1000 and to lose that much f-that plus I had been eying the tv I have now for quiet some time so I sold my spl setup and got the tv //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

I got banned for spamming and stuff like that on termpro... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

Oh ya and you didn't read it right or couldnt understand

I can understand that it looks like shit and you're on here arguing like you're better than everyone.

You're very amusing. Often.

I'm glad you're so flamboyantly happy with what you have. Doesn't mean that everyone else is stupid.

Sometimes I wonder if people even read anything of the arguments or if they have any reading comprehension skills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif
Topic of title is SVS vs B&W it is not my sub vs anything else so why would I think my sub is better then everyone else's in a topic about SVS vs B&W? Just cause some guy/girl on the net says his dayton is better then my sub and his obviously to afraid to post even pictures of his setup am I suppose to believe him....right....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

In the end its all that matters is that I like it....I had a bunch of friends over yesterday a couple did say the box needs work but then the friends who knew what I was gonna do stepped in an explained how I was gonna get it painted high gloss black when I move the sub to the new house sometime early october, then all of them agreed it was gonna be sick including their girls.
