AUX input

if i get a HU and connect my laptop through the aux input, using my laptop to play my music. Would this change the SQ? Would i have to reset the gains? Would playing a cd on the HU give me better quality then playing it through the laptop?

BTW: i have a soundblaster audigy 2 zs soundcard

Real world answer:

The laptop will sound fine.

Technical nerdy answer:

Windows' kmixer resamples all audio to 48kHz, as do Creative cards. Music will sound "computerized" after the resampling process (to the trained ear on nice equipment anyway). Only way around this is to get a sound card which supports ASIO or kernel streaming.

If you are going for the ultimate SQ setup then ditch the laptop, but if this is not for competition and for personal use then have a blast.

It should sound fine.....I have one....If the music player(in your laptop) you use has an EQ you might want to turn it off or adjusted accordingly!
