Auto Insurance

Your 6 month quoted premium with Mercury Insurance Group covering:

1 driver and 1 vehicle is

$1,595.00

265.83 a month for me.

progressive is way cheaper than that for me.

I'm 16 years old... and drive what most people consider (stock at least) a grandma car. I pay a little over $300 a month in insurance, WITHOUT COLLISION.
My mom has Geico, and I have to go on whatever policy she has, otherwise I pay even more out the *** because of my age and all.

I'm going to try and do some research and get some quotes tomorrow, looking to maybe put collision on my car and insure the stereo equipment for less than $300 a month?

Any recommendations? Anyone switch from Geico and save a lot? What's the best insurance company for cars with expensive stereo equipment?

I was just thinking about it more and more... I'm tired of paying so much, and not really being covered. I got into an accident and payed $3,000 out of my pocket to fix my car.
****, I just pay about $900/year for liability.

I'm on my parents' insurance policy and my dad has got a shitty driving record. I think I've got one ticket on my record, but I'm not really sure if it actually affected my insurance any.

I drive an '03 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V...it only went up ~$4 a month from my last car and this one is considerably quicker than the other one.

We're with State Farm and I've got about every discount they offer, which helps out a lot.

Progressive wants $860.68 per month for the recommended plan... which, if it's recommended my mom will want it.

I want to get a quote from State Farm... but they've been down for maintenance for two hours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

is there an older car on your familys plan? i ask because im 19 and just got a 03 ranger and my insurance was 310 a month but we say that hte truck is my dads back up and that i drive a 87 thunderbird. we just keep the thunderbird around for a extra car and for random things. this brought my payment down to 220 a month, it may not be exactly legal but all cars and drivers are insured with liabilty, comp/collision and all that good stuff.

Their quote site is always down for maintenance. I've never been able to make it work.

You're better off to call an actually talk to someone or just go to the office and talk with them. My rate quote with Progressive was over $1,000 for six months...so I went and talked to our State Farm agent and quoted me $60 per month, but it went up about $15/month from the time I got the quote to the time I got it covered under the insurance.

God **** thats pricey!!! I pay $165 a month, full coverage (97 Caddy ETC, classified as sport/luxury), if any of my aftermarket stuff gets damaged or stolen I show them reciepts and it is covered. That's with Statefarm.

EDIT: O ya with one ticket for driving past cerfew when I was 16.

I guess I should have never *****ed about me paying close to 200 bucks a month a few years back when I had 2 cars and 10 pts on my DL, LOL! Shit two more pts and I would have lost my lciensce for 6 months and would had to pay out about 600 bucks to get it back. I guess it pays to live in Ohio sometimes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif 300 BUCKS is NUTZ!!! 16 or not.
