AudioQue SD2.5 subs

Just wondering if anyone has used the SD2.5's and how much power did you output to them (rms)? I had a Kicker CVX12" 4DVC and it just kicked the bucket, but I loved the sub, it was loud and clean as heck, now I'm looking for a replacement, is it safe to assume that the AudioQue wil sound better than the Kicker CVX and possibly be louder?

Thanks

are we talking sd2.5 or the new sdc2.5?

i had one of the old 15s and it was a good sub. the biggest amp i ever put on it was a 900watt phoenix gold. i cant compare it to a cvx, as i have never heard one. but i wouldnt expect a significant difference between the two.

id take a cvx over the new sdcs

i wouldnt give the the new sd2.5s anything over rated power either. i dont think these chinese subs will prove to be as durable as any of AQs old subs

Exactly, you dont THINK.

I owned a pair of cvx 12's and a pair of sd2.5 12's. Both were in the same enclosure. The enclosure was made specifically for the Kickers. It was 4.3CuFt, tuned to 32Hz. The sd2.5's were louder to the ear, sounded better, more accurate, and moved more air, in a 96' Bravada.

if you know what your doing... 900-1000 watts on a sdc isnt unthinkable....
Jeremiah25 and I did some power testing on the SDC2.512 at my shop last night.

We ran the sub on a AQ2200D @2ohms with the gain turned down a little. Estimated power to the sub was 6-800 watts (no we didn't clamp).

Results in 1.8 net cubes tuned around 38Hz measured legal dbdrag on the tl in the Explorer were:

144.7 at 50Hz

141 and change at 40hz

No damage of any kind and the sub still had more to give.

We also played with the new AQG6.5 comps but I will let Jeremiah25 tell you about those.

I should have let you keep the numbers we had wrote down........It was 145.0 at 50hz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I was floored. I knew the little sub was loud, but a 145.0 out of a single 12, and FOR SURE less than 1000 real watts was crazy. At least in my setup.
