A driver doesn't care if the signal is distorted or not, power is power. 3000 watts of actual power at 20% THD will not cause any more thermal stress on a coil then 3000 watts of actual power at .001% THD.
ur not going to hear a diff from thd trust me. where you hear the diff is dampening and this is where class d amps slip up compared to class a/b. dampening controls ur woofer. i still pefer a big high current class a/b over a class d but who wants to haul batterys...
