Audiomute sound barrier insulation as Deadener

So my buddy just built his studio room in his house using AudimuteSoundproofing.com We turned it to ear piercing max level volume and bass inside the room and went to the next room, there was barely any thuds or noise at all. Which leads me to wondering if we can use the same stuff in our trunk.

they have 50 square foot of pure butyl rubber in different thickness 2.0 mm for 60$, 3.2mm for 80$ and 6.4mm for 130$ only thing is, we'd have to use adhesive for the install.

I mean second skin, murdermat, dynamat and stuff is great and all but they have less than 3.0 mm of sound deadening material and the rest is aluminum mass. while this goes up to 6.4 mm of pure material wouldn't this be a F*ckton better and cheaper with a proper install?

get some quality spray or roll on adhesive and try it out....let us know how it works out for you

i will, next paycheck i'm going get me some of the 6.4

It's a sound barrier. Not a dampener. It'll block road noise from getting in and your bass from getting out, but it won't reduce any resonance or flex.

so basically it blocks the bass sound but not the force of the bass causing rattles?
