AUDIOBAHN?!why does everyone hate them?

Tempest would be nice, you can get them for resale @ less then $120 or brand new from adire for $150. You cant wire it to 2ohms but with about 500wrms from that rfamp @ 4ohms, it would be a very nice set up in an ultra low tuned box or sealed. Although with sealed I would recommend a little more then 500 or whatever that amp puts out @ 4ohms.

I don't agree with that i have plugged up many of audiobahns to walls and they usually take it like a champ... well the AW--05's, Immortals, and AW--08's take it like a champ lasting a good 3 to 6+ minutes. Now for the AW--06's and ALUMs and AW--00's They are over rated with each one being able to take about 400w daily from my experience. but that's just my .02

Why is it that people just assume that if a sub has a high rms power handling then it must be a great sub? I have heard subs sound like shit off a thousand watts and then I have heard amazing subs getting like 400w each.

its all about driver efficiency

i dunno, i think i might have to buy a aw1206t to try for my self, ive gotten good and bad replys on this sub... any one else think i should give it a try.. i need suttin that will hit hard.. is this sub that bad?

For the curious, Audiobahn in the pinnacle of bling and advertisement. People hate them because of the incredible amount of money Audiobahn puts into looks and advertising. If they spent that on R&D, we'd have one hell of a company. Instead, you get medium quality products with chrome, carbon fiber, and the usual BS overratings. Like every company they luck out and do make some good stuff, but even Pyle does that. In the end, you have to pay for their advertising and looks. Plate steel and chrome cost more than what it'd take to use a higher quality material in the spider/vc/driver.

Basically, you could strip off the looks and have mid tier stuff like Power Acoustik / Lanzar / Audiopipe quality at a much higher price. People pay for them thinking they are buying a better quality speaker, and they aren't. It's no wonder some people don't like them and some people do. If you know what to look for, you can make Audiobahn look like a champ, if not, prepare to bend over.

Whoa now for the quality of the voice coils i do have to say i like them for that. I have yet to destroy a voice coil on any audiobahn. I have only been able to destroy the tinsel leads even when plugged into the wall. As for the back and top plates i do agree that they could use some better materials seeing that it is just a machined iron/steel or something like that plate. The spider quality i have no opinion on since i don't see much of a difference between audiobahn spiders and other high quality spiders.. yes they are over beefed though and the R&D should look into that even if it means lowering the RMS.. like they did with the Eternals.

i hate woofers that have bigger chrome shrouds over the motor to make it look like its down right huge, i also hate things that shine real bright in the sunlight and that makes it doublely bad watching a pair of (dunno what they were medium magnet chromed motor without a shroud) dvc 12's get burned up in a plexi box off an audio art 100hc lol i wouldnt say they were horrible but they were nowhere near 500 watts lol

i guess you havent seen the a5000spl..

4000x1 @ 2 ohms

over 5000x1 @ 1 ohms... and over 7000 @ .7 ohms...

it will take up to 17V without no mods and no problems..

although thats the only audiobahn product i will ever purchase...

IMO don't waste your money. You'd be better off just buying a well built, quality sub than chancing it with Audiobahn. Is it that bad? I know I wouldn't waste a dime on an Audiobahn product. Hell, if won an Abahn sub I'd just burn it (to be sure no one else would accidently end up with it).

Moral of the story; there is much better available for the money. It's that simple.
