Audiobahn subs???????????

I just installed my sister setup today. It was an Audiobahn AW122t 12" sub with a A8002T amp bridged at 4ohms (800 watts). She called me a little while ago and told me her stereo did'nt sound as loud. I went to check it, and sure enough she blew the sub. It is as stiff as a dead body:laugh: , I set the gain low, about 1/3 or so and tuned the subsonic to 25hz considering the box is tuned to 32hz. What the F**K is it with Audiobahn. I have had their S**T for a while even though I took it out of my vehicle and gave it to her I never had the problem with blowing them. Anybody have any suggestions on a new sub that I can get her that will handle the power she has (800w@4ohms).

I know they are usless that is why they are all sitting in my room:rolleyes: . I gave this sub to my sister just because she wanted something to put in her car. If you have anything or have a suggestion on a sub that this amp will push let me know. As far as price range I will ask her, I think she wanted to spend no more than $100.

Will the comp crv 12" handle the 800 watts. I am still wondering why the Bahn blew out, I had ran them before with about that power and never had problems with them before. I would have thought they could handle the 800 watts:crap: . Maybe I did'nt have the amp set right as far as subsonic and LPF, I am still clueless on what happened. Has anyone ever blown a Bahn giving it 800watts:eyebrow: . I would give her another of my subs, but if it is going to blow again what is the use. By the way she said she was listening to "Late nite tip".

Maybe she distorted the crap out of it?

Thats the only thing I can think of. Like I said earlier the gain was only at 1/3:eyebrow: . The subsonic was at 25hz and the low pass was at about 70. I wish I knew what happened, but since I wasnt there to here it I can only go with what she said. She said the volume on her head unit was at 22 when this happened. This s**t is really bigining to bother me:confused: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif .

I just talked to a friend of mine and he brought up a good point. Maybe that Audiobahn subs are over rated. The AW122T is rated at 550w rms and 1100w peak, I was giving it 800w. He said it should have not blown unless they are overrated and cant even handle what is stated on the sub:crap: . Now I am even more confused, I dont even know what to think anymore. Has anyone ever gave their Audiobahn subs more that rms and had this problem.

He could get the 3002/3004 Pioneer Premier subs off ikesound for that and would be alot and I mean alot better off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
Thanks, this for my sister. The only reason she is using the Audiobahn is because i gave it to her so that she could save money on just buying an amp. I will take a look at this sub for her. I could give her another on of my Audiobahns, but dont want to if they are going to keep blowing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .

I took a look at the 3002 which is dual 2ohm which will give me the 4ohm load she needs. Will the 800 watts be enough for it, I have never heard anything about these subs. How do they perform and was wondering if it will work in the vented box she already has, 2.00 cf tuned at 32hz.

Kicker CompVR15 for the win. I have that same AMP and I love that AMP. It really bumps my kicker. You can hear the kicker from blocks away. I am giving it 800 watts @ 4 ohms and it hasn't blown.

That box should do nicely. They say they take 1000rms, but might be overrated some. I have heard many of these subs, mostly the dual4's, but is the same as the dual2 besides ohms. So I would think 800rms would be good for just 1. If you do 2 then get the dual4s and get another amp. Goodluck.
