Audiobahn subs???????????

That box should do nicely. They say they take 1000rms, but might be overrated some. I have heard many of these subs, mostly the dual4's, but is the same as the dual2 besides ohms. So I would think 800rms would be good for just 1. If you do 2 then get the dual4s and get another amp. Goodluck.
I will talk to her tommorrow she what she wants to do. I might just pick one of these for myself to see what they sound like. I left pioneer subs a while back, but had never see I sub that looks so masive from pioneer:yumyum: .

Kicker CompVR15 for the win. I have that same AMP and I love that AMP. It really bumps my kicker. You can hear the kicker from blocks away. I am giving it 800 watts @ 4 ohms and it hasn't blown.
I took a look at this sub also, but she needs a 12" sub and it says the peak for the 12" is at 800watts.

Trust me, you will be happy. You might not want to give her that sub, might be too much for her, lol! Good luck with it.

I had something of the same sort happen to me with an aw1005. This was my fault though. I was dumb and thought i could just run a dvc 2ohm sub + to + on both vc's and - to - on both and get a 2 ohm load. Well i guess i was wrong but it blew my sub and made me do a lot of research before i got a new sub. Oddly enough my amp is perfectly fine and i was running an a8000t. anyone know what ohm that wouldve been the way i had it wired?

Yes, 1ohm. Kind of odd you did'nt blow the amp, I blew one of mine running it at 1ohm.

well see i only had 8 gauge power and ground ran, and it didnt even blow my fuse or anything. i thought that was strange. someone told me that the 8 gauge wire was holding the power back to around 600 watts. but if that is true my sub blew way boofer the 1800 watt peak it claimed.

Kind of the same happened her. I ran 4 gauge but I had the gain on the amp at 1/3, I still dont understand how the sub blew if its rms is 550w and peak is 1100w. I really dont think the 800w would have blown it considering the gain was so low.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I think she was just happy cuz she was bangin and had it cranked all day and it finally gave in. Lol. Late night tip for 4 hours straight at 22 volume would do it I imagine.

I think shes lieing LOL. Just give her another of your subs, turn the gain down even more, and tell her not to use the "Loud" function and such. See how that works.

Well after busting my head on this subject I gave up, since I was'nt there when it happened I am only going by word. I might just give her another and drop the gain a bit to maybe 1/4. I am beginning to think someone messed with something somewhere and I am not being told. She dose'nt even listen to rap first off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif

Every article I have ever read on Audiobahn subs had two things in common-

1-RMS rating are exagerrated

2-They can't properly reproduce material over 60hz.

The given RMS ratings are almost always double of what the woofers actual thermal limits are and for some reason Audiobahn doesn't think that their subs would ever need to play anything over 60hz.

So if you give it half its rated power and set the low pass in the 50 to 60 hz range you should be fine.

I had the low pass set at 50hz and the gain at about 1/3. I am guessing the 800 watts was way to much for it, I guess they are overrated.
