Sure sounds like you are. God forbid anyone wants to run anything out of the "norm" from these forums. People doggin on the Mofo's, doggin on the Eminence's. Seems like I'm not up to par with anyone on this website? I refuse to jump on the band wagon and use the same gear everyone else does. And I for one am in the Military and don't get paid worth a crap. I can't afford high end equipment. The OP and I need loud azz mids/high to keep up with our insane bass output for our Daily Drivers. And I've never heard any components or SQ speakers that are in our price range and are louder than my Eminences, therefore they won't work. What would you suggest that will get just as loud and have perfect SQ for the same amount of money?

See, there is the problem. 90% of people that dog Eminence and other ProAudio drivers have never even heard them! Just like people sayin how Mofo's sound like crap have never even heard them. But when they sit in my car they are amazed. Most peope things I have thousands and thousands of dollars in high dollar top of the line equipment. But in reality, I have cheap(er) stuff! The only time my Mids and Highs sound like crap is if I turn my gain up all the way and they start distorting! I can play different sound effects from movies and you would swear your in a movie theater but waaaaay louder of course. And to get loud of enough mids and highs to be able to hear them over 150+ DB's of music, you will spend A TON of money on high end equipment and many sets of components amd amps for all of them.

Well, another guy posted that he heard a 155db system with one set of Kicker components, and they kept up, so that means it didn't cost thousands. So um, you're gay?

agreed. ive sat in a few150+ vehicles, and none of them had more than one set of components in them.... All kept up. Not buying crappy stuff ftw. Pro audio IN A CAR ftl. and, yes, mofo's do ****. they get mildly loud, but sound horrid.

You do not need 4 8" mids to keep up with 143db of bass.I recently sold a set-up that would do 141-143 on music (1 12") and I ran one pair of JBL 6 1/2" speakers up front.Oddly enough, they never had problems keeping up. I was only running 40 watts per side at that point (if that). And they are accurate, and clean.

Oh yes, I have had plenty of experience with mofos.They can get somewhat loud for cheap but I have yet to be impressed by the way they sound.I know of a few subs that'll get just as loud, if not louder than your set-up with half the wattage your subs are getting right now. All in all, they're huge chunks of shit IMO.

Edit: BTW I think you fail to realize YOU'RE the biased one (if you even know what that means, which you don't seem to).

99.9% of car audio installs is high SPL bass with a set of component speakers.

That is all everyone knows and it works fine. But audio in the general sense is

not limited to these basic installs, there is more designs that can be explored

to give you more SQL full range that is pretty sweet. The hard part is to install

a system like this because the typical car doesn't accommodate this type of install

unless you monster garage your car or get a big van.

This argument about the component speakers keeping up is akin to buying

a store bought MTM speaker for your house mating this to a woofer system

producing 140dB of bass. Maybe you are happy with this type of setup, but the

MTM's are getting owned by too much bass.

That's why I migrated from car to home audio because the house is bigger

I have already done this once, giving specific products and a vehicle that are pro audio based and been used in many award winning vehicles.

But since you can't read, I'll try again.

Richard Clark/SpeakerWorks Grand National, Harry Kimura's Acura Legend, Alma Gates Bronco, and IDW's have been used in dozens of championship vehicles.
