It's rare to have someone desire a higher SPL front stage. If you build a good one,

the sound will be amazing, but I think most people are just happy with their

pimp woofers instead, generating gobs of bass with ok front stage. If people

haven't experienced clean full range SPL, then they won't know they are missng the boat. lol ...

Making your car go 'boom' with woofers is a piece of cake. Even a caveman can do it... lol

But making a full range sound system with higher SPL and clean sound requires

skill and alot of money to implement. Many times the car lacks real estate to

make a killer system so you'd have to get into a big van.

eminence alpha 6a are the bottom ones, eminence apt80 are the big tweeters. the top ones are dayton alunminum series mids...(for my room)

All adding pro audio crap like eminence will do is make things harsh, if you want your ears to bleed, go for it. but if you want to get loud and keep all the SQ that you can (even though SQ at 155db is laughable) don't go to proaudio. There are better ways to do it...

Where is all of this nonsense about Pro Audio drivers sounding bad coming from ? Many very highly loved and respected drivers used in sound quality competition have been high efficiency/pro audio based. JBL 2118, Image Dynamics IDW and Audax PR170 just to name a few off the top of my head (and the JBL and Audax are both highly revered in home audio aswell). Anyone remember the RC/SW Grand National that went undefeated and raised the bar for sound quality competition vehicles to an entirely new level? Care to guess what "genre" of drivers were used?

Being Pro Audio based does not make a driver inherently "bad".....that's a function of poor installation and tuning, which can plague any speaker. There are many, many fabulous pro audio based speakers on the market.....some of which are available at partsexpress.

the problem is not that they sound bad- ive never attempted to listen to them.... problem is that they are bieng used in a manner that they were NOT designed for.... you can get a set of car audio drivers that sounds just as nice, and is designed for a car...

As long they are properly installed, there is no reason they won't work. Just look at the examples I gave above.

See, there is the problem. 90% of people that dog Eminence and other ProAudio drivers have never even heard them! Just like people sayin how Mofo's sound like crap have never even heard them. But when they sit in my car they are amazed. Most peope things I have thousands and thousands of dollars in high dollar top of the line equipment. But in reality, I have cheap(er) stuff! The only time my Mids and Highs sound like crap is if I turn my gain up all the way and they start distorting! I can play different sound effects from movies and you would swear your in a movie theater but waaaaay louder of course. And to get loud of enough mids and highs to be able to hear them over 150+ DB's of music, you will spend A TON of money on high end equipment and many sets of components amd amps for all of them.
