if you are trying to set an amplifier which im pretty sure you are the above post is incorrect and you are on the right settings....check to amke sure none of the filters on the amplifer or HU are engaged causing a loss in output around the freq at which you are setting your gains

I have a saz1500 and i can't seem to get enough power to even move my 15" fi BL

All filters are down and i don't have anything on the headunit engaged. I'm playing a 50hz 0db tone but i still can't get a voltage reading

Turn the knob from 2000 to 200 to get to the right scale is what appears to be wrong in the pix. The lines that lead from the top knob to the bottom knob show a relationship exists between the two knobs.

Check the meter/probes by seeing if you can get a reading from the car battery and have the right scale selected (20).

Hope that works for you!

Rick

Thanks for the response Rick.

The angle is weird in the picture but i have it set @ 200, I got it to read but i'm only receiving 14.6 volts on MAX GAIN. any thoughts on what's wrong?

what HU do you have?

sometimes (hu dependant) you have to up the subwoofer output (ie, alpine) and up the volume to get enough output from the preouts inorder to satisfy the requirement. now remember when i say subwoofer output, i mean it. im not talking about bassboost. also what kind of tone are you using?

Your not getting enough input voltage to get a reading. You need a 0db 50hz tone, and you have to make sure your deck is sending enough voltage to the amplifier.

• I'm running everything through the stock stereo system by a high to low converter.

• 50hz / 0db tone (from R.O.E.)

• My volume is @ 20 out of 40

but i dont turn it louder than 25 because its plenty loud even after turning the bass to zero.

Is my stock h/u the problem here?

you need get up to at least volume 30/40. 50% on an already weak output isnt going to help one bit.

Just try getting the max volume attainable without damaging the internal speakers.

I think you're right, the h/u sounds like the problem.

With the volume at 30/40 this time and the gains at max once again. i got a better reading of 26.1 volts but far less than what i am looking for.

Should i buy a small amp for this problem or just get a new h/u

The h/u is your problem. Stock isnt going to cut it. You can still run the amp your just not going to be able to get the same amount of power out of it. Not nearly......
