How far do you guys live away from your prospective schools?

How much are you guys paying for rent?

Also, list any pros and cons that you have experienced with moving.

sqfootage would be nice too if you appen to know it

All replys are greatly appreciated and will def help me get some ideas about all this shit. Yea I've been to college and lived in dorms before but, moving into an off-campus appt/house is something very much diff.

When I was in school they had apartments that were off base but could only be rented by students so you dident have wierdo's or crime or anything. They were located about 10 minutes driving distance or 2 minutes walking distance. Best of both worlds, like dorms without the RA, campus police, and regular police dident even bother comming through.

They were about the same cost as my single on campus housing (don't remember the price at all, but it was expensive) but that included chow hall food. So imagine spending food monies in tow with that.

bout a 10 min drive through north hartford and im at my schoo, its much better living off campus i couldnt imagine living on ha. my apartyment is pretty big 3 floors 4 bedroom 3 bath dont kno sq ft but its a g a month i have to pay with utilities included

pay $300 + electric. 4 bedroom 2 bath 3 miles form campus but about a 12 min drive. I'm also by a community college so a lot of people from both my university and the community college.

i lived right off campus. Could see the buildings if there wasn't trees. Paid 525 a month.. but that was with everything included. Had free cable and got some free wifi.. lol

was pretty nice, it's amazing how many people think it's awesome you live off campus rather than on. :/...

Ah depending on the school you might be in for interesting ****ing ride. I lived 2 miles from campus in non-affiliated but most predominately student complexes by ucf for 3 years..... and if your school is anything like a large state university you're gonna notice some things. Tons of drugs and alcohol, *****es at the pool when the weathers nice, and alot of social fanatic kids living to excess with both good and bad results.

Pros: Lots of Bishes, and Bishes hot friends. Also meet a handful few really cool people.

Cons: Also meet alot of sketchy *** people including lots of drug dealers and other shady folk. Even if nothing you do is illicit what so ever, you're still going to be around these people.

cheaper to live in houses off campus and split rent with 2 or 3 roommates.

225 each for a 3 bedroom apt above a bar.

5th different place i have lived.

Big enough for 15 people to get drunk comfortably (ie. beer pong / cards)

across street from campus.

LOCATION IS KEY for class, women, night life, etc

When I did live in an apartment I was about 7-8 minutes from campus.

Just rent was around 285. With bills ended up being closer to 350ish.

Moving sucks plain and simple, especially if you have any decent amount of stuff to move. (I've moved 7 times in 6 years)

The apartment was about 1200 SqFT.

Apartments are decent, but if you have an option for a duplex, or renting a house, it is much more enjoyable. You don't have to worry about people above, below, both sides of your apartment.

My sister goes to VCU, she lives in the fan if your familiar with the area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . I was thinkin about attending also, I love the city.

I live about 5 minutes from campus in a brand new(well new when we moved in 1.5 years ago) 2/2 apt. I pay 822 per month for the apt(I pay for my fiancee's portion since she's still in school), plus 1/2 of all utilities, cable, and internet(have verizon fios). All in all it ends up being around $950 per month.

When I lived in an "off camp student housing" apt with two other friends, I was still paying $400 per month plus 1/3 utilities and cable...around $500 per month. It was nice though because there really weren't sketchy people or any kind of crime...living in a normal apt you run into some weirdos and annoying fucks.
