My friend from out of town have been trying to get his subs reconed for a week. We drove 4 times to Atomic...the drive is an hour 1 way each time. Every single time...they said the subs were ready...and every single time when we get there...they would come up with excuses. The lady owner of Atomics...Mrs. Wu...I believe is her name is completely crazy. I've dealt with bad customer service before...but it's this case is unheard of. She's completely insane. You will never believe me until you've actually dealt with her. She's is honestly like a little kid...who will hang up on you. On one occasion...we drove for an hour and were 5 mins from Atomics...said said it was too late and told us on the phone to turn around and go home. We were 5 mins away!!!! The next business day she made my buddy stand outside on the side walk to wait for 4 hrs...and then tell him to go home because she couldn't verify who he is and doesn't remember him dropping off the subs. He got upset and started yelling...guess what...she said the price of the recones went up from $75 to $900 for 2 subs. It's completely stupid. I've talked to other people and they've had the same bad experience. Some have had their subs there for 6 months and still waiting.
If you're planning on doing business with the people from Atomics...then think twice. Or you will regret it. I don't know how they stay in business. It's beyond believe and completely bazaar. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

BTW: as far as the sub performance on woofers before going to get reconed...we had 3 good burps on a pair of the APX's. After that...it never saw the same number again. The sub fatigued really fast...and dropped 0.5 db's at about 152 db's. Definitely low quality.

Don't get me wrong...George is a very nice guy and will more than be willing. But his wife...OWNS him in every way. I mean the way she yells at him is pure ruthless...exactly like a servant. Many many horror stories with Mrs Wu. Poor poor George....he needs to stand up for himself once in a while.

Jared Horton is putting hella great #s with his apx subs btw, he got the subs and paid extra for the recones so that situation wouldnt happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Ive talked to George and the mrs. and theyve been really great, sometimes hard to understand though, fast emails and kept up to date with the amp repair and told me what went wrong with the amp. Yep, my teams' experience with Atomic has been below par as well. Their APX just wasnt what it was all cracked up to be. .. did lower numbers on the Termlab than what we expected it to do.
Sorry to hear your problems with them Tuan, but ive found recently that many large name manufactuers like SJA just dont have their shit together at all. I can think of 3 other highly mentioned brands on this fourm that have questionable manufacturing capabilities. Ive used APX's all year with great results, people say they fall off after every burp or cant match a score but i did my highest score of the year after about 400 burps. I havent had any problems with george at all but i talk to him through email and havent talked to anyone on the phone. My subs are actually getting reconed right now and i was told they will be back before iasca finals. (next week) So i'll see if i have any problems.
