Atomic apxx

the apxx will take 5k and more contiunous with no problems i know because i have seen it done and i see it done everyday and it will handle the 30k burps with no problems
A 3" coil or 4"? 4 layer or 8 layer? I found out that mine is an 8 layer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it will take it on both of them they do everything they are rated that does not mean u can burp them at 30k forever without a recone because that is pushing them to the limit and you will have to recone any kind of sub you are doing that to i had my apxx with a 3" coil and 8 layer running on 6k daily for a very long time and the sub took it without any problems running test tones through it and everything and i know a few different people that are burping them on ridiculous amounts of power and they take it with no problem alot of ppl doubt them but 95% of them have not ran them or even see them they just see the numbers and first thing they think is b.s

There you go, Geoff.

856 motor will take it as it uses a 8 layer coil. 818 motor uses a 4 layer coil. which can do it but your chances are better with the 856 motor. these have taken 26k watts for around 4 minutes burping and had the coil taken out. still looked new.

And you have tested this theory like Atomic Bronco did, right?

ive had both motors. built both motors. seen people on team atomic run them on serious power. super stany did videos of power handling on atomics apxx subs. theres a lot of info out there on them. only thing i wish SJA did was put a composite cone on them.

I had an apxx that I no wanted to mess with so we stuck it to a light socket. 30seconds at a time, let it cool for 30 and then 30 more of power for a total of 3minutes on the light socket. That sub was sold months later and to date is still a daily driver with no recone.

it wont happen, i am willing to bet money with a 4layer 3" it wont handle 3k clamped for 10 mins. who wants to bet me....
I had that custom ID SPL motor that was rare, and Dan told me they handle 3k for about 30 mins no prob, so daily i would say 2500 or so maybe. Mind this was a 2" coil WW, Can't tell if it was 4 or 8 though, could fit an 8 for sure. This motor is JUST like the APX, but the OD of the entire motor may be slightly smaller. I believe they OEMed for ID for a while, the motor was the exact same style.

So one person has personally ran them off 5k at least, and another has seen them ran off at least 5k. I think that's enough proof that they can handle 5k daily, wouldn't you say?

i had my apxx 4" on a d9 at 1ohm w/o voltage drops and it took it all day, and that was in a 16cf wall

the apxx is an amazing sub, but.... for a 18 with a recomended box of 10cf and even more if your doing a wall or spl aplication there are other drivers out there that can take a little less abuse but fit in an everyday aplication

apxx can take alot of power period
