Atomic 5k vs. IA 40.1 vs. AB 500.1...

the 500.1 does alot more power and you will need atleast 3 big batterys to run these at .5ohm or you will blow them easy but on testing both the ab 500.1 is better then the ia the atomic is close to 2nd depends if its v1 or v2

at .5 ohm the ab 500.1 does 4700w in my set up same set up the ia 40.1 did a 4100w

I got a feeling the D9 at .5ohms will do over 6k watts. Its rated 5400 at .75ohms and has been tested at 1ohm it does 4500 at 12 volts and 5500 at 14.4

Yeah...I've heard the same. I almost hate that it looks like the best choice for my application, lol! Just not trying to advertise for that particular company right now... I may have to hide it under the seats and tell everybody that it's a Kowboy Designs 6kd, lol!

Okay...so out of the three u mentioned: cactus 5k, rd d9, or clif designs 4800.1lx...which one(half-ohm, daily)?

The fn cactus. I had the cactus 5k and they are stout. And yes I like cactus, dd and sundown, because of the very reason you are looking for a half ohm stable amp. I would get the cactus 5k if you want something new and your not low on cash! And also they hold there resell value pretty good. I had 2 and they were 3 years old and still sold them for over 700, and they still are putting out some major power....never been blown or repaired!!!

imho, I think you will be fine with any of them, install is gonna determine how loud you are or how good you sound more than the 500-1000 watt difference between the amps. I'm pretty sure I'm not telling you anything that you don't know, another thing to consider is imp rise, 2 x rise @ 1/2 ohm on say an ab 500.1 and your looking at about 2700-3000 watts, just my 2 cents....500.1's are bullet proof, I have friend that's ran his pair at .5 ohm for over a year with no problems...good luck
