ATN: People that go to the gym...

I want to go work out but I am more interested in exercises that help flexibility. I am skinny as a rail but anb't touch my toes. What exercise you reccomend for that?
weight lifting. do 15-20 reps. they have a torso rotation machine at my gym that is great for flexability.

is that the thing where you kinf of spin and your forearm is parallel to the body holding a padded grip deal?
you sit in a seat and then the grip and pad is at your should and you have to turn your upper body to the side (right or left) and grab the handles and use your torso to rotate the weight to the other side and repeat from the opposite side. really helps with flexibility in your torso. you also wanna work out your upper and lower body.

Now that a thread like this has come up I wanna ask a few ?s lol. I weigh about 125 lbs and need to get in shape bad...kinda embarassed to get ***** in front of the woman. I need a good workout to start with. I have a nice bench but im trying to get in really good shape, including legs, chest arms and all that. I wanna look somewhat cut too, Anyone got a good weekly workout schedule for me? Oh and is creatine and whey protein and all those goodies bullshit and a waste of time? If not wats some good ones I might wanna look into in the future, thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:cool:

How will working the body like that increase flexibility. Those muscle men don't seem very flexible to me
that's why you do more reps. you wanna do 12-16 reps in your case for flexibility. you lift less weight but do more reps. not sure the scientific reason but that is how it works. that's why athletes lift weights, for durability, and flexibility. if you do more reps you won't grow huge muscles like those muscle men.

I'm 6'1, about 230, 1RM bench is right around 240 now, squat is up to 315 x6 reps, and I can do a straddle split //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

powerhouse in tampa has a bunch of big jokers that piss me off. they doing like 36 45's on this monster leg press, then when i need to use t, it takes me like 5 min to get em off because they lazy, errrr body builders.

But guy i train with is all natural and he is around 45 now, still squats around 650 and leg presses well over 1400 for reps

But yeah douche bags ****

Alright you guys have me worried about how much time i pause in between sets on whatever. Typically how long do you guys wait till you go again? Theres this 1 guy at my gym whos a little chubby and wears the underarmor and just does curls, lol. I dont let it bother me though because without people like that what would we write about on car audio? lol

Don't take this as me trying to brag but... I've been competively powerlifting since I was in 6th through school and for many organizations throughout my state and nationwide. I've started Bodybuilding in 10th Grade. I have a few state records and have competed in PL and BB nation wide. I have 3 personal training certs, personal trained at 3 gyms and ran a world known Powerlifting/Bodybuilding gym. I've trained with many elite Bodybuilding and world class powerlifters all my life. Again, I'm not trying to show off or make it sound like I'm a know it all, but if you have any questions about this topic, I am very knowledable and heavily experieced in the area. I will help as much as possible, as many of you have greatly helped me in Car Audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Usually 45sec-1min between sets.

what i do is divide mine into circuits. my first circuit is shoulder press, leg extensions, torso rotation. 2nd is chest flys, leg curls, low back extension, 3rd is chest press, leg press, lat pulldown. now what i do is 20 reps on the first excercise, 20 on the next, and 20 on the last, and then go back to the first, second and third, and do that 3 times in each circuit, and then move on to the next circuit. i usually only pause about 60 seconds between exercises.
