Atlas Qts settings

and they KNOUCK !!!! . .. . hard at 220wrms each from a PA lt980/2 at 4ohms on each channel. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (bishes at work with 1000 watt pyles subs and shitty amps say what are you hitting rms and I say 220 and they say bullshit ( but I dont even know if I hit 220wrms with a stock alt, wires and all other electrical except for my amp power and my ground. in a 94 corsica?

I cant wait to get a brutus on em!!! bx1000d 500 at 2ohms. I think thats what they want at about 2.5ft^3 each to 3ft^3 each ( what I have been suggested anyway. . .. .not from aa just on the forums. as far as ported box size).

I dunno....going with the "high" Qts would result in a pretty nasty Qtc......
0.52 is not that high of a Qts anyways -- probably suited to a mid to large size sealed box. given that many of the boomer woofers have Qts higher then 0.7...

adire beat atlas to the market by a bit. they have a guide to "resistively damped operation". in short you can get a higher Qts by leaving a coil open, or putting a resistance on it. power handleing likely decreases by 25% instead of 50% because the single coil now has effectivly twice as large of cooling solution.

from the math, you should be able to add a reactance to the coil to lower Qts. i haven't tried this out yet.

the 13w7 IIRC already has a mid-hig Qts. not sure if i would raise it.

hey hey yoyoyoyo

i jsut put them in 1 cube sealed each with the gold terminals left open (so high qts i guess) and they sound really clean and get decently loud.

im very happy with these subs... cant wait to make a proper ported box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I didn't say the Qts was high, I said the resulting Qtc in a 1cuft sealed box (which the original poster said he was using) would be excessively high

hdave; did you try the other two Qts alignments?
