Quality caps work for their intended purpose; filter noise & stabilizing voltage. Where they get a bad rap is from the cheap chicom capacitors that are nothing more than a voltage meter & people expect huge gains in output with them. Caps do not work with sine sweeps or any drawn out bass notes. They can help with dimming though...
Ideally, you wouldn't use a current hog of an amp. And despite the marketing department's best efforts, Class D amps are not efficient in practice. What I mean by that is they're no more efficient than some Class AB's at normal listening volumes. It's at max volume and who knows what distortion level where the Class D amp is most efficient at. Listen to your music at max volume much?
