new to forum. have amp question

Those McIntosh amps should be able to run mixed mono without much fuss. If you add an inline passive x-over & L-Pad to attenuate the center speaker, you can use the 2ch amp to run everything. The easier thing would be a small separate amp for the center channel...

like that?

i plan to run the single sub off its own amp. or i could turn the center speaker into a sub also.

can 1 mono amp power 2 subs?
Kinda like that. The real PITA with center channel speakers is getting it to stay linear with everything else. You'll be effectively running it mono, which isn't a big deal, but that speaker is usually the closest to your ear & a different size than the rest of the speakers. You can get into issues with it being overbearingly loud at lower volumes and it being downed out/bottoming at high volumes. That's why I recommended an L-Pad. Check PartsExpress or Madisound to see if they have any OTC bandpass x-overs; that'll make things a bit easier on ya.

And yes, 1 mono amp can power two subs. Mono only means that it has 1 channel of music; no left, right, center, etc. A single mono amp can run 1 speaker or 16 speakers, they key is to maintain a safe load (impedance).
