at&t question

Same thing happens with utilities, rent, and insurance. It's another example of how our credit system in the US is ****ed. See how they're scrambling these days to keep the whole credit system from falling like a house of cards?
It's coming...
if by "how our credit system in the US is ****ed..." you mean how overly dependent we are on credit, they you are correct.

if you meant anything along the lines of how expensive it is to get anything on credit, you are very incorrect... the system in the US is ****ed because EVERYONE and their brother in law rely on credit as a means of sustaining... it is so expensive because STUPID people will rely on it for everything... credit is not meant as a means of free money that you can pay off by making the minimum. yet all of these companies thrive off of that concept. and even more so, all of these utilities, rent, insurance companies, and cell phone companies thrive off of that concept as well... they borrow money to do their goods and services which other people will also pay either their own, or often times borrowed money in return for their own services... its all one big circle man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

no offense but who doesn't know this. Good credit is a necesity unless you are a person who pays cash for everything. If that is the case you better be ready to pay cash for the home you want because without credit you can't get a home loan in today's market!!!

well yeah, thats a given.

but that post was more in reference to the amount of people that use credit as a "free cash" system. you know, the kind of people that use credit cards and make the minimum payments on them...

oh defiantly!

It is their fault but look at our nation as a whole we make minimum payments. China owns majority of our countries debt i believe 40 percent. If they went and cashed that debt we would go into recession and a quick depression

if i go buy a new phone and plan, will i have to pay for it in full at the store or will they bill me for it on the first bill i get?
i just woke up and dont feel like talking on the phone yet thats why im not calling them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
depends on if you are trying to bundle your home phone services or not.

you will have to pay for the phone in full. they will bill you for the service.
but if you put the phone on a credit card, it will be just the same as if at&t was putting it all on one bill.
not always true, depends on his credit rating

Actually, if your a new or good customer who pays his bills on time, you might be able to get them to put your phone on your first phone bill.
also depends on the phone, they are giving razr phones away right now.

You are wrong about that....

Cellular companies make you pay for your phone in installments that are included in the plans. When you sign up for a phone, your credit is checked. The reason for that is that you are financing the phone. The price of the new contract agreement on your phone, is the cost of the phone, minus the 2 year installment plan. The charge for "Airtime" is the cost to keep up the infrastructure. They are not making as much money as you may think.
not always.

best answer in the thread is below
