At 800w RMS max is the difference between 1ohm and 2ohm even noticable? 1kW Amp fine?

Buying 2 Image Dynamics ID10V3's 400w RMS max each. Looking for an amp to power them. Not entering any competitions, just listening pleasure.

I know lower ohm loads are generally regarded as more power with less control, but is it even going to be noticeable on this low of a wattage?

Is a monoblock around 1kW running @ 1ohm fine to power these two tastys?

Satisfy my curiosity, at what point will the difference in power handling between 1ohm and 2ohm become noticeable in SQ? Is this only a factor of the amp going to close to its maximum potential and spinning out of control?

well it's not that the amp becomes out of control so to speak lol. what causes the SQ to become lower at say 1 ohm than 2 ohms is the fact that you get more distortion at 1 ohm. however, i absolutely assure you that you won't hear a single bit of difference in SQ between 1 ohm and 2 ohm (assuming everything is setup correctly).

The lower resistance may produce more "power", but the amplifier will generate more heat, which if you like the amplifier and want it to last, is a bad thing. My philosophy is to run no lower than 2 ohms and if that is not enough power I buy a more powerful amplifier.

Many amplifiers are stable @ 1 ohm or even lower, and can do it all day, and are meant to function at that ohm load. However, you do lose efficiency, and as stated, heat generation tends to increase.
