A couple of reasons. Some I'm willing to share, others I am not.
1.) Chad has engineered some great woofers in the past. Maybe not the best output but all three of his woofers I've owned where awsome for SQ and smaller beating. Unless I am mistaken and Dan engineered his XBL^2 Moofers.

2.) Going along with 1 I am making the assumption that Scott will be engineering the woofers, not chad. If Fi is just going to become the build house because they have the CNC machiences and what not then more power to Chad. I have no problems there.

3.) Fi is a great company. However, comapnies who try and operate a store front and a build house for other comapnies often end up lacking on one end or the other, or that is what the past has told us. You can see where my concern is in that area. It may not happen but the past as shown otherwise with two particually popular build house/store fronts here on CA.com.

4.) I liked my little AA. I dont want AA to become an RE.

1. Actually the way a buildhouse works the owner of the company works with the engineers at the buildhouse to get the product they want. And no Dan has never done shit except for the non-existant/non-working Parthenon. Scott (RE) and Eminence did all of Dan's work for him. He just owns the patent to XBL^2 which he ripped off of other designs. Trust me though Scott and Chad will make the best products Ascendant has ever had to offer.

2. Yea basically like I said all that's going to happen is the products will get better and cheaper. And Ascendant has obviously never built in house. They're just going back to the old builder (Scott) for whatever reasons Chad feels Necessary. But consider Chad releasing this info privileged because usually companies will never reveal who builds their product, so for all you know Scott could have been all along (just an example obviously not the case).

3. Everything will be fine and don't worry about anyone selling out or whatever this change is for nothing but the better.

4. Chad will not sellout. He won't turn his back on the customers that got him where he's at. Neither would Scott hence Fi.

Simple...

Fi will still be Fi.

Ascendant Audio will still be Ascendant Audio, and our drivers will still be designed around high output SQ.

I know that what a lot of you are worried about is the new pricing and us abandoning this market. Put your worries aside. We aren't going anywhere and things will only get better.You guys made us who we are and you are our top priority, and that is why the changes were made.

Heck, if I was watching this happen from the sidelines I would be speculating too.
