Arrrrffffing bluetooth

The last Windows update wrecked havoc with my bluetooth connection on my work computer. Only when I'm using Teams, so I have no way of knowing what will happen until I'm in an actual meeting and can't hear/talk and have to restart Teams, disconnect/reconnect my headphones, etc until something works. Should be great for my presentation this week. Best part is the wired connection doesn't work anymore either, so my back plan is gone too. Yeah technology.
Ahhh, TEAMS. 'Glad I'm not the only one. Mine will sync to the microphone of the bluethooth earbuds, but then I have to manually change it to use the "speaker" portion. Or it will connect to the speaker portion, but use the mic in my camera or crappy USB headset.
Or it will connect as "headset" for mic and "headphones" for sound, while Windows itself is still using the computer speakers as the primary soundcard.

I love it when Microsoft products can't even get along with each other.

The trick is to connect your bluetooth to Windows and let it "settle in" for a few minutes (I've seen it take up to 3 minutes before the bluetooth becomes an audio option in the volume icon).
Then go into Teams 5-10 minutes before (even by starting a meeting with just you in it), go into the Teams settings, and make sure both your mic and audio out are set to the correct device.
Then it should all work.

Microsoft.

I'll giving the headset more time to "sync." These meetings can be annoying, so I"m usually doing "real" work up until the last minute and then hooking up the headset, etc. I always double check that I have the correct audio and mic selected in Teams, but that doesn't seem to fix the issue.

I'll have to make a mental note of this and if I ever have bluetooth in a head unit (never have) not to let anyone else connect to it.

I've had similar issue trying to connect to those little cheap portable bluetooth speakers, where I couldn't reconnect because another phone seemed to have priority.
