Use those **** XXX6.5's and find a suitable Car Audio Tweeter.

I use mine in 2-way active with Vifa 1" Neodymium Textile dome tweeters. 200rms per side on the XXX's and 25rms per side on the tweeters...and it's plenty clear over my MT15 and the 20.1 @.35ohms....

I have the sl60's and I am not overly satisfied with them, although I don't have my doors sealed. I will be getting a new vehicle soon and I am debating whether or not I should keep them or upgrade to the Pro's or possibly OZ Audio Matrix Elites. How satisfied are you with the Pro's and can you compare them to the sl60's? (BTW I am giving mine around 100 wrms)

sealing off your doors will make a huge difference, regardless of what speakers you are using. before upgrading, i would recommend sealing the doors off and see how it does. you might be suprised. keep in mind that how your system sounds is 10% equipment, and 90% install. the SL's are a great sounding speaker for the money. i had a set for a year or so but for what i was looking for, they just weren't cutting it. i was running them off a boston GT22, about 100 watts per side. i have never owned the pro's personally, but installed plenty of them, and they are a considerable step up from the SL's. the midbass will increase dramatically from the SL's, and they will get VERY loud. my only complaint about the pro's is that the tweets tend to be on the bright side. nothing a bit of EQ'ing cant fix, but be prepared to spend a little tuning time to get them right. i own the Z6's and have no complaints whatsoever about them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif the tweets on the Z's are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay smoother than the pro's, and there is gobs and gobs of midbass. even with my subs turned off, it still sounds like i have an 8 or 10" sub hidden somewhere in the dash... enough to make my rear view mirror move //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif as said before, the pro's will give you 80% of the performance of the Z's for about 400 bucks less, however when you really start cranking it the Z's will quickly pull away from the pro's. as a comparison, going directly from the SL60's to the Z6 on the same amplifier (before i bi-amped the z's) was like going from factory speakers to the SL's. huge difference.

i have the pro 6.5s. i fed em about 125rms a side and they got loud, but the tweeters were harsh(possibly location) and would go into protect mode after about a minute. i ended up just using the mids and going active using aura tweets.

ill have to look into those different ones

i think the diamond hex will work i got the 5.25 and they blow out a thousand watts going to two 12s ultimately it drowns out the bass

you get the 6.5 will be even better for you

they dont really shine in my opion untill you get the system cranked

it sounds like factory stuff at low volume
