Are there any 18" subs around $200 that can take ~1kW?

Fu 750 $179 very hard to beat at that price. I'd put it even with the sa but slightly cheaper.

Any specs on the fu 18? The website doesn't list much. I don't even think they have a picture of the 18" ...looks like a 12" with a Coke can next to it

Different story on facebook. The number of satisfied success stories far surpass the very minimal number of complaints. Frank has always owned up to any manufacturer defect that does occur and payed return shipping and gave them a proper woofer. That guy in the review didnt even try to contact fu.

For what it's worth, Kangaroux has had a pair of the FU750-18s on double rated power since June and he likes them: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-build-logs-cars-trucks-suvs/617976-1996-ford-windstar-fu-audio-sundown.html

I ended up going with the SA-18. If it weren't for the discounted price I would've tried the FU-750-18. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
