they dont ride around with blank warrant papers waiting for your name to be thrown on it. they have to call down to the station or wherever and get one processed. they can keep you there as long as they choose to. if you had nothing to hide , why would you tell them no? - thats how they see it. i know if i had nothing and had somewhere to go , id tell them to go the **** ahead and search me because i have shit to do rather than waste my time bullshitting trying to flex my rights.maybe thats just me though...

the only reason i would tell the cops no to searching my car is because they rip everything up and when they dont find anything they leave your shit lying in the back seat and tell you to have a nice day. It has never happened to me*knocks on wood* but a few of my friends had it done on them complete bullshit if you asked me.

But i would say go ahead and search it aslong as evrything is put back in its original spot.

I havent been riding dirty in awhile now..lol.

exactly, 99% of people that say no are hiding something. therefore the cop then has his probable cause. now whats the cop going to do?? sit in the heat/cold and wait for a warrant to be brought or arrest you for suspision {sp} impound your car and go sit in the AC/heated police station/jail office??

I have said yes and no, I have said no even when I had nothing to worry about just to piss them off a bit. Now that I don't live in the city and keep to myself I have not been pulled over in a very long time.

The main point of this thread is the a lot of people have the common misconception that you are required to lets cops search your car for any reason they want and cops no this and abuse it as much as they can.
