they can't hold you on nothing (nothing to charge you with) for more than like 30 minutes.

yeah right. cops dont give a **** if you have a meeting with the pope. as far as what ive seen and heard , what i said is how itll go down. UNLESS , the cop just doesnt have patience and lets you go , or actually follows the rule book (which most dont) and lets you go.

I have not given consent to search many of times and always been let go, never been more than 30 minutes total though from stop to being on my way.

I always do it even though I hardly ever have bud on me while driving just to piss them off, now if you get pulled over for something else like say they are going to tow you then they just rephrase search as 'inventory' and still end up going through your shit.

well , i dont think a cop is just going to pull you over 'just cause'. you had to have been doing something wrong. no turn signals , speeding 5+ mph over the posted speed , failed to come to a COMPLETE stop at a stop sign , etc. theyre not going to pull you over and be like , 'so...let me search your car guy. i think youre riding dirty because i can tell with my super cop powers'.

thats when you file a lawsuit against the cop. ask for his badge number and his supervisors name.
if a cop is trying to bullshit me, i will tell him he either needs to charge me with something, produce a warrant, or have a nice day.

they dont ride around with blank warrant papers waiting for your name to be thrown on it. they have to call down to the station or wherever and get one processed. they can keep you there as long as they choose to. if you had nothing to hide , why would you tell them no? - thats how they see it. i know if i had nothing and had somewhere to go , id tell them to go the **** ahead and search me because i have shit to do rather than waste my time bullshitting trying to flex my rights.

It depends on how they were treating me. I dont take kindly to being treated like a punk by some ******* cop... If they give me a hard time, I push back. (even though I end up getting pwnt:laugh I understand a police officer doing his job but there are far too many asshat cops that hassle folks for no good reason.

exactly, 99% of people that say no are hiding something. therefore the cop then has his probable cause. now whats the cop going to do?? sit in the heat/cold and wait for a warrant to be brought or arrest you for suspision {sp} impound your car and go sit in the AC/heated police station/jail office??
