are amplifiers actually worth using?

take a look for your self.

you see the 2 red jumpers on the xover?

1 is for the tweeter + & -

other is for the dual driver setup, jumper for 4ohm & 2ohm.

thats why i left the jumper on the 4ohm

I see. Intresting. Put it on 2 ohm. When you connect 2 drivers, I am sure they are 2 ohms then, MAYBE its like that so you tell it that ur running 2 drivers at 2 ohm. Just try it and see. change that jumper from 4 ohm to 2 ohm.

Maybe its for a configuration that means 4ohm=1 driver. 2ohm=2drivers.

it does say that on the spec, but you get better sound quality from a 4 ohm

Not that you would notice the difference between 2 and 4 ohms. It'll be a pretty negligible change.
