Yea but I bet those little woofers probably had some serious power going to them, Im not saying they couldnt take it but Im sure they had plenty of amp behind them. Im guessing ported for spl. I have a pair of Image Dynamics ID8's Im dyin to try, Ive heard they sound really nice and get very loud for being 8's.

The box isn't as big as it looks...It is a little beefier because it is made with 1" MDF ...but the air chamber is 1 cu ft per sub plus port...port was tuned at 40 hz....Those 4 DD 1008's are in about the same airspace as a single properly ported L7 15...As far as power there was a single Earthquake D3 ...It may do a true 3000 watts at 1 ohm mono....

I think it would be interesting to see what a wall of 8's would do, I have 4 18's in my van now and they knock hard but I think it would be a good "experiment" for someone to try . .someone with lotsa time and money. pssh. please. twelves cant keep up with 8"s. new technology in loudspeakers (lol) has allowed 8"s to replace 12"s. they just arent the same, physically.

If you look closely the edge of the Earthquake D3 can be seen under the box...The box is raised up on a false floor also

ooo ic gotcha, that isnt too big then, theyre still gettin a good amount of power though, did you sit in the vehicle or near by when it was playing? just curious how it would feel compared to an spl vehicle with 15's or 18's.

Its just that 8" technology is improving, so they can get loud and take up considerably less space...if I were to take a guess

if i do 8's again i would do 32 in a 4th order bandpass ...but thats if i have a taho or a expedition

in a car the most i would do is 12

i heard 8 8's and boy oh boy it was loud as hell...

i may not own one now but i use to own a few 18's (pro audio)

and built and design boxes for them...i know how low they get
