AQhdc318 + AQ2200 in my 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2nd time in the past 2 weeks...smellin something burnt---electrical.

it only lasts about a minute and usually happens after i turn off my car.

First time it happened the smell came from the engine, today the smell came from the engine and more on the inside.

i talked to some friends and it happened to them a couple times and they say its the amp???

(havent gotten a new alt/battery) +amp is laying horizontally on the carpet

Is the amp real hot after you get done playing it? I would do a check of all my wiring to make sure you're not burning fuses or wire. Start with the amp and sub and go from there.

please get a new battery or alternator or both. 2000+ watts is bad news bears for a stock electrical.

I have 1400 watts total between my sub (1200) and my components (200). I have a Kinetik 1400 battery in the trunk, all of my wire is 1/0 and i still get dimming. (most likely because my battery under the hood is corroded and old as hell, i plan on getting a new one soon)

But seriously, if i'm having this issue with that many watts, you will have even more.

yea ill just avoid blasting it for a countinious amount of time till i upgrade my electrical

FM...everything works its just that is doesnt pick up any usb connection.

And I tried it with different cables/mp3s...still no usb connection

There is some power going through to my ipod since it charges but idk, only think I can think of right now is that Im screwed

doubt that burning smell only happens at full tilt...

so i dont think its got anything to do with that
