I've dealt personally with DJ and Jacob.
I purchased 2 15" AQ SD2.5's and 2 AQ 1200D's from DJ and he got them here quick fast and in a jiffy. Less than 3 days after I ordered...

Jacob..same thing...I order...3-4 days it's at my doorstep.

DJ answered all my questions, helped me with a couple problems, as well as Jacob.

Don't you just love the fact, that you can call a # and DJ or Jacob will answer the phone personally? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
i've only talked to DJ once for a breif time over the phone, but it is nice i can PM them any time. it's nice talking to the people that design and test this stuff over some idiot that a company just broght in to do tech support. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

the truth be told, with 2 of either of these, the difference in SPL will be minimal at best. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference if everything else is the same. Your talking about 6800+ to 7500 watts, the 600-700 difference will not add up to much if anything, maybe a 10th of a db.
I personally would go on the fact that Sundown is proven in their power, reliability, Customer service, and the fact that incase of the odd failure, the repair shop is already in operation and doing a fantastic job (thanks dB-r).

Although AQ seems to be right in line, they are not proven with their version of the Zenon amp and the repairs are not in full swing and proven, at this point.

Just my honest opinion.
Again taking nothing away from the Zenon amp our amps are not built by Zenon. As far as amp repairs go our present repair service is located in OKC close to our facility and we stock a full line of repair parts. Turn around time is usually 3-4 days.

I did not decide to go into the amp business on the drop of the hat and just pick an OEM builder at random to build our amp line. Our sister company, Digital Designs, has been in the amplifier business for several years and I took that experience, both the good and the bad, and applied what we had learned before expanding Audioque into the amp business.

Audioque is a direct seller and does not support a dealer network with the associated "mark-ups" needed to provide the additional profit margins for dealers or "reps. This enables us to give an "open checkbook" to our OEM amp company to provide us with the highest quality designs, parts and production methods available. We are in constant contact with our OEM suppliers and I am not an easy person to deal with when it comes to questions of production quality. I pay for the best and I insist on the best.

I am very pleased with the quality, reliabilty, and performance of our AQ1200D and AQ2200D amps. We now have hundreds of these amps sold and to date the reliability and performance has been exceptional. I fully expect our new AQ3500D and the AQ4X90 to do the same.

We provide "in house" service on all of our subwoofer lines as well as recone parts to OUR customers. It is only a natural progression that we do the same with our amplifiers. I do not like to depend on "outside" contractors to service our products. It's not that they don't do good work, most do, but it places our reputation out of our hands and absolute control. To be quite honest we don't have enough amp repair work on our products to make it cost effective but by partnering up with DD and another large amp company it will be.

Not taking away from either company, as I have owned products from both and have been nothing but satisfied. However I call RD audio all the time and Steve himself always answers the phone...that sort of thing is fairly common among the brands popularized on the forums.

Bottom line, these types of threads are pretty silly. You should research the forum, search any of the threads praising either of these companies, and then make a decision that best suits you, and your application.

have no experiance with either but have read many good things about both the products and the men behind both these companies...

The only thing I see that puts sundown ahead of AQ is the extra year of warranty, the 5 year exchange policy and the inexpensive repair plan...For the extra c note it is worth the extra piece of mind IMHO

I think that is what puts sundown ahead of AQ and that is my .00002 cents...

If AQ had the same warranty/policies/plans it would be too hard to decide...
