Doing business with Jacob myself since March of 2007 and I can say he is the best to deal with, awesome guy.

Haven't had oppurtunity to do business with the owner of Audioque (DJL, DJman) but I hear good things.

dbr if we were not in the process of setting up our own amp repair shop with Digital Designs and one other amp company I would be giving you a call. I know the quality of your work.

this is making me want to cry, I am so warm a fuzzy inside right now.

Seriously guys, It is nice to see such mutual respect and understanding of what is truly important, to the guys out here spending their hard earned $ on the products you provide. I personally haven't delt with AQ yet although I do have one of your subs i am itching to try, but jsut the fact that you piped in, in the manner you did gains respect from me. But, Jacob is still the man!

Sundown 3000ds are beast, PERIOD. I played mine .5ohm DAILY with volts down to 11.5. Got hot but NEVER went into protect. The AQ's do look like a **** nice amplifier to and I plan on trying one out in the future. Your gonna be running 2 very powerful amps. Id say go with Sundown unless you plan on keeping your voltage higher then 12v, which will be hard with 2 very powerful amps. I know the Sundown will do fine in the 11v range but I dont know about the AQ.

the truth be told, with 2 of either of these, the difference in SPL will be minimal at best. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference if everything else is the same. Your talking about 6800+ to 7500 watts, the 600-700 difference will not add up to much if anything, maybe a 10th of a db.

I personally would go on the fact that Sundown is proven in their power, reliability, Customer service, and the fact that incase of the odd failure, the repair shop is already in operation and doing a fantastic job (thanks dB-r).

Although AQ seems to be right in line, they are not proven with their version of the Zenon amp and the repairs are not in full swing and proven, at this point.

Just my honest opinion.

I'd love to try either one! Both of them make excellent products and have the best CS you could ask for as a buyer. I've never dealt with DJ personally but I've seen his awesome customer service across this board. I think everyone knows Jacob's rep too. He sets a model of customer service that all companies should emulate. Plus he makes some of my favorite drivers ever..=)

I will say this also, if your worried about $200 in the run of life, you need not be running either if these pairs of amps. They both need one hell of a electrical system, that will cost a crap load by themselves.

Having a system with 6000+ watts is not for the fait of heart or the light of wallet.

Thats what I was saying. I think the Sundown amps will be the way to go if your voltage is gonna be in the 11's. Which is a good chance it might just be. I dont know how stable the AQ's are at low voltage. I do know that Galacticmonkey running 6 3000ds with volts dropping down into the 10's. He puts those **** amps in thermal protect all the time. Nothing has ever blown though.

I agree.

You can not go wrong with either company. The owners both have amazing service. Both always reply promptly to emails and are willing to help whenever possible.

The 3000d is a proven amplifier, along with the rest of sundown products. AQ is also proven, not as much as sundown yet in the amplifier market, but still very high quality. I really can't give an opinion here. It is a matter of which fanboy group you want to join, they both exist for good reason: they are both solid, proven companies with amazing customer service. The fact that the owners take the time out of their day to jump on forums and reply to multiple PM's/post and still live their lives astounds me. They both have my respect and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from either of them, if I had the money. Every product from both companies is quality.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some pretty solid reviews on the 2200 line, I don't see why the 3500 would be any different.

Not jumping on either boat, as said in the post above, but I think the 3500 would take 11's with ease along with the rest of the line. 10's is a different story. If your dropping to 10's, something needs to be done.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Let me know if you need anything.

I really think the question was answered best by Jacob. Buy what you want.

The AQ 3500 has not had many reviews, but the 2200 and 1200d are proven preformers in the car audio market like the rest of AQ products. I dont see any reason why the 3500 would be any different.

Of course, the Sundown has been proven time and time again as one hell of a series of amps. Nothing more needs to be said about them.

Then, theirs the fact they both have amazing customer service, which always sweetens the deal IMO when your dealing with a company and their products.

My suggestion? Flip a coin. Two beast of amps that you cant really go wrong either way.

I've dealt personally with DJ and Jacob.

I purchased 2 15" AQ SD2.5's and 2 AQ 1200D's from DJ and he got them here quick fast and in a jiffy. Less than 3 days after I ordered...

Jacob..same thing...I order...3-4 days it's at my doorstep.

DJ answered all my questions, helped me with a couple problems, as well as Jacob.

Don't you just love the fact, that you can call a # and DJ or Jacob will answer the phone personally? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
