AQ2200D problem.....i hope

ok i talked to dj today and i checked some things. my coils are right. i took the subs out and checked it. it was reading 1.6 ohm on the multi meter. my hu does not have a subwoofer control but the bass control is turned up on the hu. dj said it could be that the rca's are junk or my deck is just a peice (kenwood 132). i know somthing is wrong because that 2200 watt amp should be flapping the axis silly with the gain up.

get an mp3 player or ipod and grab an 1/8" mini jack to rca adapter and test with that as a source instead of your head unit. if it works, try connecting the mp3 player to your rca cables and see if that works. Basically just troubleshoot it piece by piece.

i went through all the troubleshooting with dj and it still was not putting out enough power. i am returning it tomorrow and he is going to check it out.

How is it the voltage on the head unit? If you set the gains properly with the dmm than it should be putting out proper power and after you set your gain you should not mess with boost/SW settings on the head unit. The head unit pre out voltage means nothing to how loud your setup is, this is of course the reason for the gain. If you had a HU with 5v pre outs your gain would be set really low.
